While not the only attempt at pairing smoky depth of “black” tomatoes with the full tart and sweet balance of Pink Brandywine, Weaver’s Black could be the oldest and is likely the best flavored. It’s irregular flattened large heirloom beefsteak shape looks coal-dusted over crimson, with shadows of green, purple and brown. It’s flavor intensity of peaty whiskey and rich tomato is not for the faint of heart, but everyone who tries it will have an opinion.
These tomato starts will be in 4” pots and will be available for local pickup in mid to late May.
